What you need to know in Low vision – recent updates on Low vision Devices:
This workshop will introduce participants to popular assessment tools and optical devices used in low vision rehabilitation. The workshop activities will utilise: assessment tools for distance vision, near vision, contrast sensitivity and optical devices for the rehabilitation of reading, writing, driving, mobility, and glare control.
Low Vision and Children:
This workshop will demonstrate the techniques available for low vision children to learn and improving their reading ability - Low vision reading technique-training.
Low Vision Mobility:
This workshop will demonstrate the techniques and optical aids available for low vision people who suffer Mobility and Orientation disorders.
Low Vision and Reading Ability:
This workshop will demonstrate the techniques (example: Scanning Laser Ophthalmoscope) available for low vision people with macular disorders. The low vision rehabilitation will assist in using an alternate area of the retina (located outside of the affected foveal/macular area).
