Malaysia enjoys sub tropical conditions throughout the year with temperatures hovering around 32 degrees Celsius (90 degrees Fahrenheit). During November, scattered rain showers will offer a welcome respite from the humidity. Rain showers seldom last for more than a couple of hours leaving a fresh and crisp air.

Currency
The Malaysian Ringgit (RM) is the official currency in Malaysia.

Business Hours
Banks are opened Monday to Friday from 9:30 to 16:00 and selected banks are opened on Saturday from 9:30 to 11:30 except on the first and third Saturdays of each month. In general shops open from 10:30 till 21:30 in the large cities. They open and close for business earlier in the smaller towns and rural areas.

Tax & Tipping
Tipping is usually not customary in Malaysia. A 5% Government Tax and 10% Service Charge are added to rooms, meals and other related services.
